Little Chinese Learners is a complete self-study Mandarin curriculum built on the guidance on the ACTFL 5C standards with games and activities designed for young learners. It can be utilized with or without the guidance of a Mandarin-speaking teacher.
Each lesson comes with a 5-day lesson plan with a variety of activities designed to engage the learner, including video lessons from native teachers, cultural videos, animated stories and songs, read-aloud books, review games, writing worksheets, craft, and more. Activities are designed with space repetition and upward-spiral methodologies to optimize learning.
While we designed our program with children aged 4-10 in mind, we have had learners as young as 2 and as old as… well, old. In essence, anyone can learn with us.
We publish at least two new lessons (complete with 5-day activities that includes videos, animation, homework, games, and more) each month. We also publish “Special Courses” every few months covering cultural topics like Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Race, Autumn Festival, and more.
No, definitely not. We have students from heritage and non-heritage families. Mandarin immersion program students particularly have found the program to be incredibly helpful for non-heritage families who may need the extra support.
Little Chinese Learners is a comprehensive program covering all four tenets of learning a language (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). However, more exposure is always better. For those interested in live tutoring sessions, please contact us. Additionally, for students who want to build Mandarin literacy skills, sign up for our sister program Little Chinese Readers with the code “LCLearners” to get 15% off your yearly subscription.
We offer a monthly and a yearly subscription plan for individual and families. Please visit the Memberships page for more details.

The individual premium account comes with one account. The family plan comes with one primary account plus two student accounts.
A primary account controls billing and subscription information and is also the Group Leader of the group consisting of the associated students. From the Progress page, the Group Leader can see and manage the progress (including marking lessons/activities complete) of each student in the group.
For a customized plan with more student accounts, please contact us with the number of seats you need.
On your Account page, there is a unique link to be distributed to your students. Using a different browser (or logging out of your account first), use that link to sign up for each student. Each student will need a different username and password.
Coming soon, award points can be exchanged for special rewards like unlocking special lessons and activities, including secret games!
Award points can be earned only when a student uploads an assignment and the assignment is approved by the teacher. The teacher will award points up to the maximum allowed for that task depending on the quality of work submitted.
Unfortunately, not at this point. The points are tied to assignment uploads and grading by each student’s personal teacher. Hence, award points are only available for premium plus members.
